It's all about four-digit horsepower hypercars these days, but Bermat, a recently founded Italian car manufacturer, is getting a different strategy for their first production version. Bermat GT sportscar aims to revive the Italian-style Grand Tourismo with a personalized design, a variety of versions, and respectable performance numbers.

Bermat, the Rovereto-based company founded by Matteo Bertezzolo, is named after his initials. Camal Studio created the vehicle, which was built in partnership with JAS Motorsport.

According to the company, the Bermat GT-Pista will be the first to hit the market in the first half of 2022, followed by the GT, which will be available with either an ICE engine or an electric drivetrain. Bermat GT was inspired by an "unidentified flying object" that was brought down to Earth, according to its inventor. The front is reminiscent of Ascari, while the back is reminiscent of La Ferrari and the McLaren P1 GTR.

Although there are flaws in the design, it's nevertheless an attractive sports vehicle because of its low and aggressive nose, wide side windows, and generous use of bare carbon fiber. With the track-only GT-Pista, you get a racing livery and a fixed spoiler at the back end. It has a length of 4,600 mm (181 inches), a width of 2,000 mm (78.7 inches), and a height of 1,200 mm (47.2 inches), and a wheelbase of 2,600 mm (102,4 inches).

Around 1,100 kg is the car's weight owing to the carbon fiber body and lightweight monocoque T-MM platform (2,425 lbs). In addition, it meets with FIA safety rules for the CN class, which is a requirement for competition. The GT-Pista is powered by a 2,0-liter supercharged four-cylinder motor with a longitudinal position that generates between 320 and 400 hp (239-299 kW / 325-406 PS) and torque up to 450 Nm (332 lb-ft).

For 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in around 4 secs, a six-speed sequential transmission and self-locking differential are used. The car's setup is track-oriented, with adjustable push-rod suspension and shock absorbers. The 245/645R18 Pirelli DHB front and 265/645R18 rear tires are placed on 19-inch OZ Racing rims. These are 380-mm front discs with six-piston calipers, and 355-mm rear discs with four-piston calipers.

The architecture of the interior reminds us of Ferrari's latest models, with a 12-inch digital instrument cluster encircled by climate vents. The center console also features a large knob that resembles the game's primary controller. Street-legal and track-only models both have buttons positioned on the steering wheel, with the latter having a racing-style wheel.

Bermat GT
When it comes to personalization, Bermat is delighted to say that it will be "the first automobile manufacturer capable of putting the consumer at its center of a project. The track-only Bermat GT-Pista will be replaced by a street-legal Bermat GT in 2022, but no additional details have been released by the manufacturer. This freshly created Italian business has not disclosed pricing information or production goals.
