The Alfa Romeo 4C, the brand's iconic mid-engined sports car, is hitting a milestone – it's turning 10! To celebrate this momentous occasion, Alfa Romeo has announced an exciting one-off project: the 4C Designer’s Cut.

This special edition 4C will be a unique undertaking, customized by Alfa Romeo Centro Stile's automotive designer, Alessandro Maccolini, with suggestions and inputs from fans and the public. This distinctive project is set to transform the already beloved sports car into an extraordinary collector's item.

The announcement came via the "Reloaded by Creators" program from Stellantis’ Heritage department, where Maccolini was entrusted with the project's helm. The designer unveiled three unique specifications – the 4C Tributo, 4C Corsa, and 4C Leggenda, each one reflecting a distinct charm and character of the 4C.

Each of these specifications aims to pay homage to the 4C's history and legacy. The 4C Tributo, painted in red, harkens back to the legendary 33 Stradale, while the matte gray 4C Corsa, featuring gloss black alloy wheels and red brake calipers, showcases a modern, sporty edge. Lastly, the 4C Leggenda, painted in a light blue color, stirs nostalgia with its vintage vibes and white multi-spoke alloy wheels, reminiscent of pastel-colored Alfa Romeos.

In a move to engage fans and car enthusiasts, Alfa Romeo plans to share these specifications through the Heritage Department's social media channels, opening the doors to public input. The final decision and specifications will be announced later, with the customized 4C likely to retain its original specs – a carbon-fiber monocoque with a mid-mounted turbocharged 1.8-liter engine.

Although the 4C faced commercial challenges during its 7-year production run, well-maintained examples of the car are now commanding almost double their original 2013 price in today's market. The one-off Designer’s Cut project is expected to mark the end of the 4C's production journey by Alfa Romeo.

As the automotive world anticipates the unveiling of this special anniversary edition, it's worth noting that its price remains a mystery. But given the car's collectible status and limited production, it's safe to assume that it will carry a substantial premium. As we celebrate a decade of the Alfa Romeo 4C, we look forward to seeing this one-off 'Designer's Cut' in all its glory.
