Acura Informed NSX GT3 Evo22 Race Car Will Survive And Thrive

Acura NSX may be ending production in 2022, but it still has a lot of track time ahead of it. Acura has announced the release of a new version of their NSX GT3 race car. It includes several enhancements that should increase the platform's competitiveness.

NSX GT3 Evo22 improves on the current NSX GT3, a vehicle that has won countless tournaments in IMSA, SRO, and Japan's SuperGT, by adding better intercoolers to the 3.5-liter twin-turbo engine shared with the road car, enabling it to keep performing in a broader variety of situations and locations.

The suspension gets some revisions under the hood, including updated spring rates and geometry alterations.
Evo22 improves the car for endurance racing by having larger fluid tanks and a revised wheel system that allows for faster tire changes.

The back is illuminated with an FIA-mandated rain light. Acura will also offer a wide range of headlamps and air-con choices. The Evo22, like the previous NSX GT3, foregoes the road car's hybrid and AWD systems. Rather, power is sent to the back wheels using an XTRAC semi-automatic six-speed sequential gearbox.

The motor block, heads, valvetrain, crankshaft, pistons, and dry-sump lubrication system are all same in both the race and road cars. While European GT3 teams will be backed by Italy, North American racers will be supported by Honda Performance Division in Southern California. Since its North American debut in 2017, the NSX GT3 has won 25 IMSA and SRO class titles, making it the defending IMSA GTD and SRO GT Manufacturers' Champion.

While no new road cars will be created after next year, they will continue to represent the "A" calipers on the racetrack. Acura claims that the NSX GT3 will be homologated globally until 2024.
