Mercedes-AMG is bringing the E53 wagon to the U.S., and it’s shaping up to be one seriously well-rounded machine—blending everyday usability with some serious muscle under the hood.

From the outside, it’s a familiar face to those who’ve seen the European version. Buyers will get to play with a bunch of styling packages—AMG Night, AMG Night Plus, and AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber.

The interior is as luxurious as you would expect from a Mercedes. MB-Tex and Microfiber come standard, but you can upgrade to Nappa leather if you want the full VIP treatment. The tech is solid too—there’s a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 14.4-inch infotainment screen, and a killer 17-speaker Burmester 4D surround sound system. Want more flash? Opt for the MBUX Superscreen, and your front passenger gets their own 12.3-inch display to play with.

Now let’s get to the real fun: the powertrain. The Mercedes-AMG E53 is powerful due to its plug-in hybrid setup, which combines a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with an integrated electric motor and a substantial 28.6 kWh battery. All together, it makes 577 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. That’s good for a 0–60 time of just 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. Yes, this is a wagon we’re talking about.

For those who want to go even harder, the optional AMG Dynamic Plus package unlocks Race Start mode and bumps power up to 604 hp. It also cuts the 0–60 time to 3.8 seconds and raises the top speed to 174 mph. Other upgrades in the pack include active engine mounts, a limited-slip rear diff, upgraded brakes, and a sportier steering wheel.

If you’re after something a bit more exclusive, there’s also an Edition 1 model. It’ll come in a slick Manufaktur Alpine Grey paint with AMG graphics, 21-inch forged wheels, and a cabin filled with unique trims and extra features. Although Mercedes hasn't revealed U.S. pricing yet, we expect the wagon to cost a few grand more than the $88,000 E53 Sedan.

Mercedes-AMG E53

Wagon fans—this Mercedes-AMG E53 might be your next dream garage daily. Fast, luxurious, tech-loaded, and just rare enough to make a statement. Are you into it?
