2026 Toyota Corolla FX Edition Revives Retro Cool With No Performance, Just Style

Toyota is bringing a dose of nostalgia to the U.S. with the new Corolla Hatchback FX Edition, a limited-run model that pays tribute to the 1987 Corolla FX16. While it doesn't come with any performance upgrades, it gets some sharp styling tweaks that make it stand out from the standard hatch.
Updates include 18-inch Gloss White wheels, a black rear spoiler, and a throwback Corolla badge on the tailgate. It’s available in just three colors: Ice Cap (white), Inferno (a bold orange), and Blue Crush Metallic.

Inside, Toyota gives the Corolla FX Edition a bit of flair with orange contrast stitching on the seats, dash, doors, and gear shifter. The seats themselves are sportier than the regular model, with extra bolstering, suede inserts, and integrated headrests borrowed from the Sport Touring trim.

Built on the SE trim, the 2026 Toyota Corolla FX Edition comes with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and an 8-inch infotainment screen. It also includes wireless charging and Toyota’s full suite of safety tech (Toyota Safety Sense 3.0).

Under the hood, nothing changes. It keeps the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 169 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive.

Only 1,600 units will be made for the U.S., and the 2026 Corolla Hatchback FX is expected to arrive at dealerships this fall. Pricing details are not available at the moment, but considering the current SE starts at $23,780, it is anticipated to be slightly higher.
