2026 Audi A6 Avant Teased Ahead Of March 4 Debut

Audi is gearing up to unveil the 2026 A6 Avant, and they've just dropped a teaser ahead of its full debut on March 4. While the official image keeps things mysterious, leaked videos floating around online suggest the new A6 shares a lot of its looks with the smaller A5. At one point, Audi was planning to rename the gas-powered A6 as the A7 to separate it from the all-electric A6 e-tron.
But they've backtracked on that idea, so the familiar A6 name stays. The A6 Avant will be the first to hit the scene, with the sedan following soon after. From what we can see, the wagon has a sleeker shape, and the teaser hint at a full-width LED strip at the rear.
Meanwhile, leaked footage seems to show the car completely uncovered—an S-Line Quattro model sporting aggressive bumpers, big wheels, and black badging. The front end looks a lot like the A5, but with a taller grille and sharper headlights that give off RS6 and A7 Sportback vibes. Audi’s also giving the A6 a more muscular stance with stronger rear shoulders, flush door handles, and a sportier-looking rear with a steeper glass angle and extended overhang.
Beyond the standard models, spy shots confirm the A6 Allroad and high-performance RS6 are also in the works. Underneath, the new A6 rides on an updated MLB Evo platform, now called PPC (Premium Platform Combustion). Expect gas and diesel options, all with mild-hybrid tech. As for the RS6, rumors point to a switch from the V8 to a plug-in hybrid V6 pumping out 725 hp.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner calls the A6 a major refresh for the brand, blending aerodynamics, efficiency, and high performance with a first-class driving experience. Full details drop on March 4.
