2025 Xpeng G6 Refresh Brings Faster Charging And Longer Range
by AutoExpert | 17 March, 2025
The Xpeng G6 is getting a major refresh for 2025—and it’s a serious step up. The headline news? All 2025 G6 variants now feature Xpeng’s upgraded 800-volt architecture and brand-new 5C ultra-fast charging batteries. What that means in real-world terms is seriously quick charging: just 12 minutes to go from 10 to 80%, or 280 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Even in brutal winter weather—think minus 30°C—you’re still only waiting around 15 minutes for the same charge. That’s impressive.

The new pack is wrapped in a protective armor shell that can reportedly handle temperatures as high as 1,000°C and resist side impacts with pressure up to 80 tons. In other words, it’s designed to take a hit and keep you safe.

Listings from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology suggest the Xpeng G6 Long-Range models—named the 625 Max Technology Edition and 625 Max Ultimate Edition—use a 68.5 kWh pack. The range-topping 725 Ultra-Long-Range Max Ultimate Edition gets a larger 80.8 kWh battery. You’re getting up to 388 miles of range in the mid-tier trims and a massive 450 miles from the top-spec model.

Performance-wise, all models use the same rear-mounted electric motor, pushing out 292 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. That’s good for a 0–62 mph sprint in 6.3 seconds, with a top speed of 125 mph.

Xpeng has also upgraded the tech side of things with its Turing AI driving system, which uses cameras, millimeter-wave radar, and ultrasonic sensors to boost safety and semi-autonomous driving capabilities. Two new paint colors—Starry Purple and Cloud Beige—add some extra style to the lineup. Inside, the Xpeng G6 now comes with a new 9-inch digital rearview mirror and more luxurious front seats that offer heating, ventilation, and even a massage function.

As for pricing in China, the 2025 Xpeng G6 starts at 176,800 yuan (around $24,400), with the mid-spec version priced at 186,800 yuan ($27,500). Bottom line: if you’re shopping in the Tesla Model Y territory, the refreshed Xpeng G6 just became a very serious alternative—especially if ultra-fast charging and long range are on your wishlist.
