Hey everyone, big news for all you car enthusiasts out there – the 2025 VW Golf has just hit the scene in Europe, and it's bringing some pretty cool stuff with it. To celebrate a whopping 50 years since the Golf first rolled out, VW's dropped an “Edition 50” special model that's sitting pretty at the top of their lineup.

But, hold onto your wallets, because along with this special edition comes a bit of a price bump across the board.

The “Edition 50” is not just any Golf; it's based on the swanky Style trim and packs some unique touches to mark the big 5-0.

Think “50” badges that catch the eye on the B-pillars, sleek “Edition 50” tags on the side sills and steering wheel, plus some fancy 18-inch Leeds alloy wheels, a LED strip on the grille for that extra flair, and tinted glass at the back for a bit of mystery. Inside, it's just as special with cool brushed stainless steel pedals and a chic black headliner.

And there's more on the horizon for the Golf fans. The GTI version is dropping the manual but is getting buff with more muscle and smart AI features.

VW's rolling out the Golf in four different flavors – from the straightforward Golf to the mid-spec Life, and the top-of-the-line Style, before you hit the special Edition 50.

Peek at the German configurator, and you'll see the base model doesn’t skimp on goodies, sporting LED headlights and wireless tech for your smartphone, despite rocking 15-inch steel wheels.

Power-wise, there's a mix to choose from at launch, including the straightforward 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engines with a classic six-speed manual, or you can go a bit more techy with the mild-hybrid 1.0 eTSI and 1.5 eTSI, both paired with a seven-speed DSG. The hybrids get a boost from a 48 Volt system, promising better efficiency and a bit more zoom. And for those who love the details, there's some fancy tech under the hood with variable turbine geometry turbochargers and Active Cylinder Management.

Looking down the road, VW’s hinting at more options coming our way, including some snazzy plug-in hybrids for those zero-emission days and a farewell tour for the trusty old turbodiesel. Plus, keep an eye out for the hot Golf GTI and the upcoming Golf R for those craving a bit more thrill.

Now, about those prices – yep, they’re heading north. Starting at €27,180 ($29,258) for the entry-level Golf and a bit more for the Golf Variant, it’s a jump from the previous models, thanks to inflation and those extra bells and whistles they’ve added. The Edition 50? That’s kicking off at €36,820 ($39,617), packing the punchier 1.5-liter engines.

With over 37 million Golfs sold since its debut, designed by the legendary Giugiaro, it's been a favorite pick in Europe for ages. Though, it’s now seeing some stiff competition from the Tiguan SUV on the global stage.

So, if you're in Europe and eyeing a new ride, the Golf lineup is looking fresher than ever – but maybe start saving up a bit more for those extra special touches!
