BMW has upgraded the i4 and 4 Series Gran Coupe for 2025 with several new features. A slightly revised grille, and sharper headlights are on the way to the i4 and 4 Series Gran Coupe. The color scheme has been updated, and new wheel designs have been introduced.

From a mechanical standpoint, the i4 remains unchanged for 2025, while the 430i and M440i get revised powertrains that use 48-volt hybrid technology. New LED graphics, including the boomerang-style DRLs found on other new Bimmers, have been developed for the headlights up front.

The grille has undergone some minor adjustments, and the surround now comes in matte chrome as standard and as an option with the M Sport package. Identical Laserlight taillights, originally seen on the BMW M4 CSL special edition, are located at the back. The bottom diffuser element on the i4 and 4 Series Gran Coupe is now painted in a high-gloss black, independent of extras if you pick the M Sport package.

Just as with the grille, you'll need to specify the diffuser if you want the tailpipes to match. At least for combustion model owners, there's good news: the exhaust tips are now four inches in diameter, up from 3.5 inches. Cape York Green metallic and Vegas Red metallic are the new external hues, while new wheel styles in 19 and 20 inches round out the improvements to the exterior. The interior has undergone a subtle redesign, featuring fewer controls.

The number of buttons within the i4 and 4-Series Grand Coupe's LCI has decreased. In its place, the new BMW iDrive with QuickSelect incorporates functionality, signaling a shift toward digitalization. The QuickSelect function refers to the infotainment that lets you access frequently used features without leaving the home screen.

In any case, the BMW Curved Display now allows for touch operation of the automated climate control system's functions, including the heating of the seats and the steering wheel. In addition, the 2025 BMW 4-Series Coupe and Cabrio get minor hybrid upgrades and new designs. New wood and brushed trim options, as well as a Galvanic finish for the gear selector, iDrive Controller, and Start/Stop button, are among the other interior upgrades for the 2025 model year.

BMW has also enhanced its Sensatec synthetic leather. The sports seats now come standard with a smoother and more sophisticated fabric material, with leather available as an optional extra. By the way, the i4 and 4-Series Gran Coupe models now come standard with sports seats. A novel approach to hybrid power in engine simulations A 48-volt mild hybrid system is included in the 430i's turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

Redesigned intake ports and combustion chambers, along with adjustments to the injection system, camshaft control, ignition system, and exhaust gas routing, are all part of the combustion engine's enhancements. The output is the same as the previous model, with 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.

However, it is possible to feel the advantages when driving. The M440i Gran Coupe, which is more powerful than the 540i xDrive and X5 xDrive40i, has the same 3.0-liter inline-six engine. The M440i, like the less powerful 430i, has 48-volt mild hybrid magic, which can be engaged for about 10 seconds to provide an extra 11 horsepower (8 kW or 11 PS) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque. The powerplant produces a total of 398 lb-ft (539 Nm) of torque and 386 horsepower (288 kW/391 PS).

This is sufficient to propel the M440i from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds when equipped with rear-wheel drive and 4.3 seconds when equipped with xDrive all-wheel drive. Availability The Munchen assembly factory in Germany will produce the 2025 BMW i4 and 4 Series Gran Coupe. The 2025 model-year rollout is scheduled for July 2024.
