The latest 2024 Porsche Macan is here, and for the first time - it is completely electric. Of course, Porsche has previously built other electric vehicles, but this Macan marks the first transition series from internal combustion to battery electric.

As such, it comes to the market in the second half of 2024 with an appealing range of unique features meant to make it as much of a Porsche as the internal combustion Macan.

From a design point of view, the new EV Macan indeed resembles much of the rest of the family. Obviously, it’s grown a little bit, because the vehicle sits now atop Porsche’sPremium Platform Electric architecture, which it shares with an Audi Q6 e-Tron with similar dimensions. It now measures 188,4-inches in length, 65,8-inches in height, and 84,7-inches in width.

As declared by Michael Mauer, the Vice President of Style Porsche, the all-electric Macan marks the first electric vehicle from an established product identity, which is recognizable by its brand identity as part of the Porsche product family.

Macan’s wider footage results in a larger interior space. Rear passengers now enjoy more legroom, while each new Macan offers an extra 4,4 cubic feet of storage compared to the ICE version. Out of this extra cargo space, 2.9 cubic feet are located under the hood in a second small section.

The Macan lineup includes two versions waiting for their launch: Macan 4 and Macan Turbo. The Macan 4 fires 410 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque while hitting 0-60 mph in a fraction of 5 seconds.

The Macan Turbo produces 630 hp and 830 lb-ft of torque and hits 0-60 mph in 3 seconds. Both versions effectively rock a rear-wheel-drive crossover by sending all of the power to the rear tires only.

Porsche incorporates features like Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) and PTV Plus for the Macan Turbo in order to increase the handling. Moreover, both models offer four-wheel steering, enabling the back tires to turn up to five degrees in either direction to enhance high-speed stability or low-speed cornering.

The Macan 4 wears a 78,800 USD price tag, but note that the price doesn’t include the 1,650 USD fee for destination and delivery. Compared to the current combustion-powered Macan, pushed by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which costs around 60,700 USD, the latest EV Macan 4 offers superior performance and advanced technology.

The Macan Turbo starts at the eye-watering price of 105,300 USD and matches with the ICE version Macan GTS, which features a 2.9-liter turbocharged V6 engine that blazes it from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and is priced from 86,800 USD.

Porsche stated that they will begin taking orders immediately, with deliveries being scheduled for the summer of 2024. Albeit, Porsche confessed that the production capacity for the 2024 model may not really satisfy the demand - although no specifications regarding the exact number were made.
