Peugeot has unveiled the updated E-Rifter, the passenger variant of the E-Partner LCV, as part of its refreshed LCV lineup. This revamped minivan boasts a refreshed design, enhanced technological features, and a slight increase in driving range while retaining the familiar electric powertrain from its predecessor.

In terms of design, the E-Rifter features restyled headlights with triple LED claws, an enclosed grille with a modern texture, and updated intakes on the front bumper. The E-Rifter continues to integrate crossover styling cues with plastic cladding, aluminum-style skid plates, roof rails, and ample ground clearance for an adventurous character.

The facelift has also introduced two new color options, Sirkka Green and Kiama Blue. Peugeot offers the E-Rifter in two lengths: Standard (4.4 meters) and Long (4.7 meters), available in 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. The longer version provides more room for passengers and cargo. All E-Rifter versions feature two sliding doors and a large tailgate with an opening window for easy access to the cargo area. The boot offers 27.4 cubic feet of space in the Standard version with a 5-seater layout, which expands to a massive 141.2 cubic feet in the Long version when all seats are folded.

In addition to this, various storage compartments provide up to 6.6 cubic feet of storage space, depending on the version. Inside the cabin, the E-Rifter receives an all-new i-Cockpit dashboard with a standard 10-inch infotainment screen and an optional 10-inch digital instrument cluster. Other interior features include a redesigned leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, a wireless charging pad, three USB slots, and new light gray fabric upholstery for the seats (5 or 7).

Safety equipment has also been upgraded with 18 ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control, and parking assistance is improved with 12 sensors and a high-definition reversing camera. However, the E-Rifter retains its existing 134-hp electric powertrain, sourced from a 50-kWh battery pack, which powers the front wheels. This powertrain offers consistent performance, with a 0-62 mph time of 11.2 seconds and a top speed of 83 mph.

Despite not receiving the latest and more powerful electric powertrain from Peugeot, the E-Rifter boasts efficiency improvements, thanks to a new regenerative braking system and the addition of a heat pump. These enhancements result in a WLTP driving range of 199 miles, up from the previous 174 miles. Charging is relatively quick, with a full charge taking 5 hours in an 11 kW wallbox, and the battery is compatible with 100 kW DC fast charging.

While Peugeot has not yet disclosed the pricing for the updated E-Rifter, it is expected to be the most affordable 7-seater in the automaker's lineup. Additionally, the closely related Citroen E-Berlingo, Opel E-Combo Life, and Fiat E-Scudo models are expected to receive facelifts in the coming months, providing internal competition for the Peugeot E-Rifter.
