The 2024 Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe is the latest buzz in the Mercedes CLE Coupe family, injecting some excitement into the standard range. With the 53 badge, the coupe rocks a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six.

The carmaker amped it up with better combustion chambers, new piston rings, optimized injection, and a new exhaust gas turbocharger. Working alongside the integrated starter generator and a 48-volt electrical system, it can throw in an extra 23 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. The whole deal gives you 449 hp between 5,800 rpm and 6,100 rpm, with torque hitting 413 lb-ft or 443 lb-ft with the Overboost function kicking in.

The engine buddies up with the familiar 9G 'Speedshift' transmission, sending power to all four wheels. It goes 0-62 mph in 4.2 seconds, hitting a top speed of 155 mph or 168 mph with the optional AMG Driver’s Package. The CLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe gives you a smorgasbord of driving vibes with modes like Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual.

And for those feeling adventurous, there's a drift mode that turns it into a rear-wheel-drive beast, although it's a feature that might stay on the shelf for many owners. It also rocks standard rear-axle steering for better handling at different speeds and the three-stage AMG steering and AMG Ride Control suspension system for that sweet spot between nimbleness and comfort.

Looks-wise, the coupe stands out with a more aggressive AMG front grille and a pumped-up bumper. The widened front arches by 58 mm and rear arches by 75 mm give it that extra road swagger. Standard 19-inch wheels are there, but you can upgrade to 20-inch ones. The back gets a makeover with revised LED taillights, a small lip spoiler, new twin tailpipes, and an optional AMG Optics pack for extra flair.

Inside, you get a cool flat-bottomed AMG Performance steering wheel, carbon fiber on the dashboard, red stitching, and seats decked in leather and microfiber that you can customize. If you're feeling extra sporty, there's a set of performance seats you can go for. Mercedes-AMG hasn't spilled the beans on which markets will get the CLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe, when it'll hit the streets, or how much it'll set you back.
