Kia America has pulled back the curtain on the much-anticipated 2024 Kia EV9. With a wide array of details already announced, Kia is gearing up to offer four distinct trims: Light, Wind, Land, and GT-Line. The entry-level EV9 Light features 19-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, and acoustic front glass on its exterior.

Inside, the cabin features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an equally spacious 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a handy 5-inch display for climate controls. Designed for seven passengers, this vehicle also boasts a faux leather steering wheel, LED lighting accents, and a tri-zone automatic climate control system.

Safety is a priority with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems, including Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and more. Under the hood, a 76.1 kWh battery pack powers a rear-mounted motor, generating 215 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

This combination allows the EV9 Light to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 118 mph. It can cover approximately 223 miles on a single charge, and recharging is convenient, taking around 6 hours and 45 minutes with a 240V outlet or less than 25 minutes with a DC fast charger.

Catering to those seeking more range, Kia introduces the Light Long Range. Sharing many features with the base model, the Long Range variant offers a six-seat interior and HomeLink connectivity. Equipped with a larger 99.8 kWh battery pack, it extends the range to around 300 miles, although the 0–60 mph time slightly increases to 8.8 seconds.

Moving on to the EV9 Wind, this trim brings forth a dual panoramic glass roof and silver slim flush-type roof rails, adding to its distinctive look.

Underneath, the 99.8 kWh battery pack is paired with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, creating a combined output of 379 hp and up to 516 lb-ft of torque. The EV9 Wind achieves a spirited 0–60 mph time of as little as five seconds and can reach a top speed of 124 mph.

For those seeking luxury, the EV9 Land brings Small Cube LED headlights, a striking illuminated grille, and larger 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the six-seat interior receives premium touches like heated and ventilated rear seats, a digital rearview mirror, and ambient lighting.

The EV9 Land also introduces additional driver assistance systems such as a Surround View Monitor and Blind-Spot View Monitor. At the top of the lineup, the EV9 GT-Line boasts a self-leveling rear suspension, 21-inch wheels, and sportier seats with unique badging. However, it offers slightly less range compared to the other trims, at 243 miles.

While pricing details are yet to be unveiled, Kia plans to offer an advance reservation program tailored to customers who are eager to own the first mainstream three-row EV SUV. The EV9 will roll off the assembly line in West Point, Georgia, starting next year.
