New and amazing 2024 Honda Prologue EV has a cool starting price at $48,795. You know what's cooler? Its range, which extends to 296 miles. Quite impressive, isn't?

So, Honda's first dedicated electric SUV, the Prologue, is making waves with this killer range for its standard model. Including the destination charge, you're looking at just under 49 grand.

Their basic model, the Prologue EX, is stealing the spotlight. With one single-motor, front-wheel-drive setup, Prologue EX manages to pump out 212 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque.

The EX goes beyond power; it gracefully brings on the stage style and comfort. With 19-inch aluminum wheels, Google built-in, and wireless thingies for Apple and Android phones - it makes the drive cozy. Add that to a wireless phone charger, a power-adjustable driver's seat, cozy heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and even Sirius XM satellite radio.

Now, let's break down the pricing and range across different trims:

- The EX with a single motor and 2WD is at $48,795 for 296 miles.
- If you want dual motors and AWD, it's $51,795 for 281 miles.
- The Touring model with a single motor and 2WD jumps to $53,095 for the same 296 miles.
- Go for dual motors and AWD in the Touring, and you're at $56,095 for 281 miles.
- The top-tier Elite with dual motors and AWD will set you back $59,295 for 273 miles.

All these prices include a $1,395 destination charge.

If you're eyeing the twin-motor, all-wheel-drive setup, you'll get more horsepower but give up some range. It still pulls a respectable 281 miles. The Elite trim tops everything with luxury but has a slightly lower range of 273 miles.

Comparing it to the Chevy Blazer EV? The Prologue is a steal. The Blazer starts at around $56,715, but the single-motor price isn't out yet. However, GM's still got a cheaper option with the smaller Equinox EV, expected to start at $34,995.

On the more luxurious side, you've got the Cadillac Lyriq starting at $57,195 and the Acura ZDX at $64,500. It's still up in the air if Prologue buyers will get tax breaks, but it seems more likely for those leasing.

But wait, there's more! Honda's offering credits across several charging networks in the U.S. If you go with EVGo, you get up to $750 in free public charging, or $100 in free public charging if you choose a $500 Level 2 home charging system credit. Electrify America users get 60 kWh of complimentary public charging. And for those interested setting up a home charger, Honda covers up to $500 in credits.
