The 2024 Acura TLX is receiving an update, and while its cosmetic changes may not be immediately apparent, Acura has concentrated on enhancing its offerings in various ways. The new TLX will be available in three configurations: front-wheel-drive Technology, all-wheel-drive A-Spec, and the flagship Type S.

Notably, the base TLX model is no longer part of the lineup, and Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive is not available on the Technology variant.

Unfortunately, the Advance model, known for its luxury-oriented styling and adaptive dampers, has also been discontinued. However, Acura is enhancing the TLX's premium appeal by making features such as leather seating, an ELS Studio premium sound system, and adjustable ambient lighting standard, thanks to the promotion of the Tech package to the base model.

The A-Spec trim, known for its sporty styling, now includes all-wheel drive at no extra cost. A notable improvement comes in the form of the AcuraWatch safety and driver-assistance suite. The TLX is equipped with a front camera with a 90-degree field of view and a millimeter-wave radar system in the grille with a 120-degree field, significantly wider than the outgoing model's 50-degree measurement.

This update enhances collision detection and the system's ability to recognize pedestrians, bicycles, road markings, and signs. The blind spot detection system also extends its coverage to warn of approaching vehicles. The carmaker has also responded to customer requests for a quieter driving experience by incorporating acoustic front door glass, thicker carpet, and added insulation in various areas, significantly reducing noise intrusion.

The A-Spec Acura model also includes active noise cancellation as part of its ELS Studio 3D audio system, further contributing to a quieter cabin. Design-wise, all versions of the TLX feature a new frameless grille design that extends the Diamond Pentagon's textures to the bodywork. While the changes are subtle, they give the 2024 TLX a sleeker appearance compared to its predecessor. The A-Spec and Technology variants have 19-inch wheels with updated finishes. The A-Spec has a more aggressive split-spoke design in Shark Gray, along with a revised rear fascia with Type S-inspired round tailpipes.

The Type S model also boasts a frameless grille with a trim-specific inner texture for a more aggressive look. It comes with 20-inch wheels finished in glossy Berlina Black, and the gold Y-spoke wheels, previously featured in the PMC Edition, will be available as an extra option. Two new colors are introduced for the 2024 TLX are: Liquid Carbon Metallic on the Technology model and Urban Gray Pearl on the A-Spec and Type S.

These updates aim to make the 2024 Acura TLX a competitive option in the market for sporty luxury sedans. Although specific pricing details have not been disclosed, it's expected that the base price will increase in line with the newly standard technology package, maintaining Acura's presence in the segment.
