Toyota Avalon will be replaced by a new Nightshade Edition variant for the 2022 model year before it is phased out of the United States. Toyota is also discontinuing the spicier Avalon TRD for 2022, which is no longer available in the configurator.

Midnight Black Metallic, Wind Chill Pearl, or Celestial Silver Metallic will be available on the new XSE Hybrid Nightshade Edition model. A slew of black accents, including black mirror caps, a black rear spoiler, black door handles, a black shark fin antenna, and black name badges, are also applied to the sedan.

The car rides on black-painted alloy wheels that are 19 inches in diameter. The Nightshade Edition, as well as the Limited, Limited Hybrid, and Touring, feature black perforated SofTex inside, and Toyota's power tilt/slide moonroof comes standard. On the 2022 XLE and XLE Hybrid, it's an alternative. Toyota's eight-speaker sound system, which features a 9-inch touchscreen, is also included in the Nightshade. The Limited and Touring grades come standard with a 1,200-watt, 14-speaker premium JBL audio system.

The entry-level XLE trim of the 2022 Avalon gets a slight price rise over the current model, up $150. Because Toyota has made its Toyota Safety System 2.5+ standard throughout the whole model range, the slight price increase includes more standard safety equipment. Automatic high beams, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure warning with steering help, road sign assist, and other features are included.

Toyota is also adopting its Rear Seat Reminder, which keeps an eye on passengers in the back seat. The 2022 Toyota Avalon, which comes in 6 different variants, is currently available for purchase at Toyota dealerships. This will be the final Avalon sold in the United States, while the car will continue to be sold in China.

The $1,025 delivery fee is included in the listed price.
