It's official: Skoda has introduced the Slavia, a new B-segment sedan tailored for India's market, after a lengthy teasing campaign. Skoda Slavia, like the Kushaq, is built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which was developed specifically for India.

The new 2022 Skoda Slavia features a three-box sedan form with a coupe-style roofline, as per Skoda's new design philosophy. It has glimpses of the larger Octavia and Superb, although it isn't nearly as big.

Full-LED headlights inspired by the Fabia, a big hexagonal grille, and a sophisticated series of air vents on the bumper can all be found upfront. The slanting roofline and high-mounted L-shaped crystalline split LED taillights define the rear end. The vehicle comes in three trim levels (Active, Ambition, and Style), with five exterior color options and up to 16-inch wheels.

The dashboard of the Skoda Slavia is mostly based on that of the Fabia supermini, with fewer expensive materials for the trim, while some components come from the VW Polo/Virtus. In comparison to previous offers in the market, accuracy, technology, and style have all substantially improved, while practicality remains the primary focus. The inside is rather spacious, with lots of legroom for rear passengers and a cargo capacity of 521 liters (18.4 cubic feet).

Behind Skoda's trademark two-spoke steering wheel, a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen is coupled with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. Among the standard features are ventilated front seats, keyless entry, an optional sunroof, and several Simply Clever functionalities such as a dashboard utility recess, wireless charging pad, USB-C ports for rear passengers, rear cupholders, smartphone pockets, coat hooks, elastic bands, and numerous storage areas. The Slavia is equipped with six airbags as well as basic ADAS features.

Buyers can choose between a 1.0 TSI three-cylinder engine that produces 113 hp (85 kW / 115 PS) or a more potent 1.5 TSI four-cylinder engine that provides 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS). The smaller engine comes with a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, while the premium comes with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG gearbox. Front-wheel drive is standard on all models. Customers in India can pre-order the Skoda Slavia, which will be delivered in the first quarter of 2022.
