2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry Edition Features Robust Styling Starting At $40,000

Ahead of its premiere at the Chicago Auto Show, Ram has announced a new BackCountry Edition.
The BackCountry Edition, which is essentially a package available on the 2022 Ram 1500 Big Horn and Lone Star, combines "convenience, comfort, and off-road performance in one package with a name that appeals among truck owners."
Starting with the exterior, black badging, exhaust tips, headlight bezels, mirrors, and running boards give the BackCountry a darkened appearance. The edition also comes with 18-inch black alloy wheels and black tu-tone painting on the lower extremities and bumper.
A body-color grille frame, a tonneau cover, and the 444 Off-Road Group round out the features. Tow hooks and skid plates, and also an electronic locking rear axle, off-road-tuned shocks, and all-terrain tires, are included with the latter. Hill descent control, a spray-in bed liner, and a movable bed step are some of the characteristics provided.
The BackCountry offers black bucket seats, special badging, and Mopar slush mats, which aren't worth mentioning.
With four-wheel drive and 5.7-liter V8 powertrains, the truck will be available in Quad and Crew Cab variants. Both engines have 395 hp (291 kW / 400 PS) and 410 lb-ft (556 Nm) of torque, but one incorporates an eTorque mild hybrid approach.
2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry can go on sale in the third quarter, with a starting price of $40,085 (plus $1,695 shipping tax).
