Mercedes wants to gain back its title as the definitive four-door coupe and after seeing the unwrapped facelift done to the CLS class we proudly say that they on the right path. The 2022 CLS rocks with a revised grille and a sportier front bumper. The wheels were restyled snd a whole new paint job naming it Spectral Blue Metallic (Starling Blue Metallic in the US). There are many other option colors for the CLS, starting with Jupiter Red, Cashmere White, Magno, and Emerald Green. Quite an exclusive palette.

The CLS interior had minor changes including a new steering wheel with a two-zone sensor pad in the rim to detects your hands. This feature was enabled to help the driver preventing erroneous warnings when using the CLS’s semi-autonomous driving technology. An open-pore brown walnut and high-gloss grey wood trim, as well as neva grey/magma grey and sienna brown/black upholstery combinations, was added to the interior. Customers can choose from an assortment of new two-tone design Nappa leather options - Classic red/black, saddle brown/black, Tartufo brown/black, Deep white/black, and Yacht blue/black.

Even the engines have been optioned between an entry-level 1.9-liter four-cylinder producing 191 horsepower and up to 400 Newton-meters of torque; a 2.0-liter four-cylinder delivering 261 horsepower and 550 Newton-meters, or a 3.0-liter inline-six developing 325 horsepower and 700 Newton-meters of torque. On the petrol side for the CLS 350 gained a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 295 horsepower and 400 Newton-meters of torque. The next leveling up the high class is the CLS 450 4MATIC, powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six producing 362 horsepower and 500 Newton-meter of torque.

The CLS 53 4MATIC+ is coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. This setup improves the car's performance at acceleration from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 4.5 seconds, reaching a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). 2022 Mercedes CLS 450 4MATIC is expected in U.S. dealerships early next year. Further details will be revealed closer to launch.
