During the Guangzhou Auto Show in China, Genesis has unveiled its 2022 Electrified GV70. The 2022 Genesis Electrified GV70 SUV joins the Electrified G80 sedan, which debuted earlier this year. It will be available in a limited number of locations starting next year, and while pricing specifics have yet to be revealed, it is believed to be more expensive than conventional petrol and diesel variants.

In Boost Mode, Genesis Electrified GV70 is powered by a pair of electric engines that provide 482 hp(360 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. It will be enough to accelerate the SUV from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.5 secs.

The SUV's battery pack's capacity hasn't been divulged, but Genesis has stated it employs the same 400V/800V multi-rapid charging technology as the GV60 and Hyundai Ioniq 5. When plugged into a 350 kW quick charger, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. According to the Korean testing cycle, the Electrified GV70 can drive 400 kilometers each charge.

Genesis Electrified GV70, like other electric Hyundai and Genesis vehicles, has a Vehicle to Load function that offers 3.6 kW of charge and allows users to plug in a variety of electric equipment.

A Disconnector Actuator System has also been included in the model, which can automatically connect or separate the motor and driveshaft based on the road conditions. A specialized e-Terrain mode, as well as an Active Noise Control-Road mode, have been designed.

Genesis Electrified GV70 looks almost identical to the classic model. G-Matrix grille with a disguised EV charging outlet is the most important improvement. The electric SUV's sleek back end is further improved by the absence of tailpipes.

Inside, there are some modest improvements, such as paddle shifters to modify regenerative braking, a Boost button on the steering wheel, a slimmer central tunnel, including the use of more sustainable materials.
