This tiny truck will be able to achieve at least 30 mpg without the help of a hybrid engine, according to window stickers for two Ford Mavericks.

The fuel efficiency numbers for a 2022 Maverick XL FWD with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost motor and the 8-speed automatic, as well as a 2022 Maverick XLT AWD with the same motor and the optional tow kit, are revealed on the Monroney stickers, which were originally uploaded to the Maverick Truck Club forum.

According to the window sticker, the first truck achieves 23 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the motorway, and a mixed rating of 26 mpg. The second vehicle, on the other hand, achieves 22 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highways, and 25 mpg overall, thanks to its extra driven wheels and towing package.

This is better than the Hyundai Santa Cruz, the Maverick's closest rival. According to the EPA, that truck can only get 27 mpg on the highways and 23 mpg total. Ford's projected fuel efficiency matches the 26.6 mpg obtained in real-world testing by a YouTuber.

The 2.0-liter Ecoboost motor in the Maverick produces 250 horsepower (253 PS/186 kW) and 277 pound-feet (375 Nm) of torque. Meanwhile, the optional 4K tow pack boosts the truck's towing capacity to 4,000 lbs (1,814 kg).

When consumers choose the hybrid version of Ford's new small truck, they will be able to obtain even greater fuel efficiency. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder motor and an electric motor generate a positive 191 horsepower (193 PS/142 kW) and transfer power to the front wheels through a CVT gearbox. However, it obtains a combined fuel efficiency rating of 37 mpg in the town and 40 mpg on the highway.
