2021 Skoda Kodiaq RS Has A New 2.0-Liter TSI Petrol Four Engine

After the Skoda Kodiak failed the emission regulation requirements, now the automaker is ready for a glorious comeback. Skoda brings a new TSI Petrol Four engine on the market for its 2021 Skoda Kodiaq RS model. 

The new engine is replacing the old 237 horsepower bi-turbo 2.0-liter diesel being 132 lbs (60 kg) lighter and delivers up to 242 horsepower. Coupled with a seven-speed DSG transmission and an AWD system suggests performance details should be impressive. Supposedly, it should have 6 seconds acceleration on the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint. Compared to the old diesel engine, the 7 seconds performance is way much faster. Customers expect more than the previous 220 km/h (137 mph) top speed.

The RS specifications show both front and rear aprons, with a glossy black finish for the grille. Flanked by full-LED Matrix headlights as standard, black look for the roof rails and window surround, rear reflector spanning across its width, and 20-inch Sagitarius alloy wheels set it apart from the rest of the 2021 Kodiaq family.

The interior features a seat up front with integrated headrests, extra side bolstering, red stitching in a diamond pattern, and a black Suedia microfiber. There is a standard Virtual Cockpit that features an extra - ‘Sport’ layout on a 10.25-inch display.

The 2021 Kodiaq RS, renamed for the British market as the Kodiaq vRS, is expected in the Skoda showrooms starting this summer.
