2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Launched For The Chinese Market Redefines The Luxury Sedan Concept

Here comes the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show with more cars and this time let's talk about the glamourous 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S480  built exclusively for the Chinese market. The West will get the same model but under another name - S450. Using the same engine as the Benz S-Class - the 3.0-liter gasoline with mild hybrid assistance delivering a combined output of 362 horsepower and 500 Newton-meters of torque.

Meanwhile, both cars ( S480 and S450) differ in performance rates. The  Maybach S480 reaches 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.8 seconds, while the S450 sprints the same distance in 5.1 seconds. Secondly, the Maybach's six-cylinder offers a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h), returning the equivalent with 27.5 mpg-US (8.56 l/100 km).

Still, the new Maybach S480 explores, as usual, the limits of a luxury sedan with the finest materials available. The sedan can be achieved in China for the price starting at $224,655 and it can become a hit since it's the only Maybach S-Class available in China at the moment.

Maybach plans to add to the list for its Chinese customers the S580 and S650 variants. These two can deliver up to 496 horsepower powered by the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 and 621 horsepower output with the bi-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine.

The US customers will be able to purchase the 2021 Maybach S-Class starting this summer for a price of $184,900. The price does not include the destination charge.
