The Japanese from Honda brought many jewels to Geneva and one of the most coveted is the new Honda Civic Type R, a hot hatch with over 300 horsepower!

Even if Europeans feel at home in Geneva, the Japanese do not get frustrated and test their limits with all sorts of premiers. One of them is the hot-hatch Civic R that threatens the supremacy of Golf GTI, Ford Focus RS, and Megane RS. We must admit that the new Type R is well equipped under the hood where you can find a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter VTEC turbo aspirated engine capable of delivering 310 hp.

Thanks to that power, the car manages to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. Engine resources are managed by a 6-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive. The maximum speed is also impressive 270 km/h. That being said, we can conclude that its direct rival is the new Ford Focus RS. In terms of technology, the Japanese engineers say that the new Civic Type R has an impeccable road grip and excellent aerodynamics.

It has a perfectly flat floor and for better downforce, they installed a spoiler and rear diffuser. They did not forget the braking system, which is provided by the renowned producer Brembo who gave the car 350 mm discs and 4-piston calipers.

As far as comfort goes, the new Civic R features an adaptive suspension. As for the Assistance Service systems, there are many of them: Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, High Beam Support System, Blind Spot Information, and Cross Traffic Monitor. Like the production version of the Civic, the Type R will get the standard Brake City Active system.
