Rolls-Royce Phantom Oribe- The One And Only

Rolls-Royce just introduced its last project - the fabulous Phantom Oribe. Most of the billionaires are devoted to this brand's bespoke creations and this time a Japanese entrepreneur and art collector man decided to add something unique to his collections.

The Japanese billionaire, Yusaku Maezawa, insisted on a collaboration with Hermès so the bespoke Phantom Oribe is inspired  by Maezawa’s “world-class collection of ancient Japanese ceramics.” This one would turn out to be a good story to tell his nephews.

For more luxury touch they added a champagne cooler, a usual decanter storage compartment, and lambswool floor mats. According to Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös, “Hermès commissioned an artwork based on a design by the celebrated French artist and illustrator Pierre Péron (1905–1988) who created many of the House’s iconic scarves. The work, inspired by the famous Hermès horse motif, is hand-painted on Open Pore Royal Walnut and is presented as though staged in an art gallery, behind glass,” bringing “together, two houses with more than three centuries’ combined experience and heritage.”

Initially, planned to be presented as a land jet, all parties finally decided on a two-tone exterior symbolizing the green and cream glazes of antique Oribe ware. The bespoke Oribe Green was "borrowed" by Rolls-Royce for Maezawa’s private jet. Cool, right?

The same colors were used for the interior design with an upholstered cabin in Seashell White and Hermès Enea Green leather. Also, the green tone was applied to other major touch-points with Hermès tone on the headrests and rear calf supports.

Other features include wooden speaker frets, even the beloved perforated open-pore Royal Walnut. In Rolls-Royce style there a wooden center and rear consoles along with Hermès Toile H canvas manufactured especially for the armrests, consoles, and headliner.

As Müller-Ötvös admitted, working with Hermès was an extraordinary privilege for the Rolls-Royce team.  It was a true creative challenge, technically demanding commission, and bring their client’s remarkable vision so beautifully to life.
