Rennsport Reunion 7 Welcomes Rare Mirage Porsche 911 Carrera

Mirage, the Autobot from "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," is revving its engines alongside the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 at Rennsport Reunion 7, happening from September 28 to October 1 at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
This iconic event will showcase legendary cars, including the rare 964-series Carrera RS 3.8. Enthusiasts will have a chance to see the latest Transformers hero car and 15-foot-tall versions of Autobots Mirage, Optimus Prime, and Optimus Primal.
Ayesha Coker, Vice President of Marketing at Porsche Cars North America, expressed excitement about presenting the hero car at the Rennsport Reunion. She commended the Porsche Classic team for their dedication to preserving this car as a vital part of Porsche history. Coker highlighted the importance of unveiling the vehicle at Rennsport Reunion 7, the world's largest Porsche gathering.
Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 is a rarity, with only 55 units ever produced. To protect the originals, the film utilized five carefully crafted picture cars that mimicked their appearance. Each of these cars had a specialized function in the film, contributing to various sequences, from high-speed backward driving to stunt performances and artist-focused scenes. For an authentic engine sound representing Mirage, the film turned to a real 911 RS 3.8, recording its distinctive exhaust note!
The 2023 Rennsport Reunion will also celebrate Porsche's 75th anniversary and introduce the US to Mission X, the automaker's latest all-electric hypercar concept. The event will also feature the Porsche Vision 357 Speedster, a modern interpretation of the iconic classic Porsche 356 Speedster from the 1950s.
