Audi R8 debuted at Geneva with a series of important news that makes us believe that it is a completely new model, despite strong similarities with the previous generation of supercars from Ingolstadt.

Thanks to the new Audi Space Frame chassis and carbon fiber components the new R8 has lost about 50 kg. The 5.2-liter V10 unit has undergone some changes and will be available in two versions. In the first case, the engine develops 540 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque, and if you opt for V10 Plus you can enjoy a total of 610 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. The standard version can guarantee a sprint from zero to a hundred in 3.5 percent and reaches a top speed of 323km/h and V10 Plus is doing the same task in 3.2 seconds and top speed is increased to 330km/h.

The manufacturer claims that besides the addition of horsepower, the new engine also promises greater efficiency and is equipped with a cylinder deactivation system during traffic jams. And if you were to believe his word when the new R8 guzzles between 11.8 and 12.4 liters respectively, depending on the chosen engine.

They ruled out the manual transmission option and only provide an automatic 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox that intelligently supplies power to the all-wheel-drive system and can be operated in one of four modes comfort, auto, dynamic and individual which takes account of suspension, brakes, or exhaust system! It can operate and redistribute torque between the axles and in some cases, it is possible to deliver 100% of power to a single axle!

THE Audi R8 e-Tron is equipped with two electric motors each pushing 230 horsepower and 460 Nm and accelerates from zero to a hundred in 3.9 seconds. It can provide an autonomy of 450 km on a single charge!
