Four Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ns will compete in this year's Pike Peak hill climb. The company revealed on Friday that it will market two enhanced variants in addition to the two previously disclosed, aiming to break the record for the most modified electric SUVs and crossovers.

Let's start with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Time Attack Spec. When compared to a regular Ioniq 5N, the visual changes are striking. A massive spoiler, side sills, and fender flares are all parts of Hyundai's aggressive aero package.

18-inch forged wheels with Yokohama slick tires and front and rear six-piston brakes are visible under the arches. They've also installed a set of three-way adjustable dampers to enhance the suspension. You may also change the camber and ride height. Plus, there's a little extra power. With the electric vehicle's powertrain fine-tuned, Hyundai was able to extract 37 more horsepower from the rear motor when set to maximum overboost.

All in all, the TA Spec has 678 horsepower, but those parts are the same as the regular Ioniq 5 N. Pike Peak requires all Hyundai Ioniq 5s to have a certain wrap, and all participants must have safety gear. Hyundai has improved the exterior speakers to deliver 120 dB of sound through the N Active Sound+ system, which generates tones.

Not only is it mandatory for electric vehicles to make noise during races for safety reasons, but Hyundai also claims that the engine noise would provide better input to the driver. In addition to the race-ready variants, Hyundai plans to market two Ioniq 5 Ns that are ready for production, with the goal of setting a production EV record. For safety reasons, there have been no modifications to the standard model other than the addition of roll cages and competition gear.

Additionally, Hyundai is collaborating with the Gran Turismo series on the next hill climb action in the GT7, which is sure to please all you gamers out there. We will provide details about the project at a later time. “We are investing in the future of motorsport with our first ever electric Pikes Peak racer and collaboration with Gran Turismo," stated Till Wartenberg, vice president and head of N Brand at Hyundai.
