German Officials Criticize Bugatti Chiron Owner Who Did 259 MPH On Autobahn

Radim Passer, a successful businessman, returned to the Autobahn in his Veyron in July 2021 in an attempt to better his 2015 record of 402.5 km/h (250 mph). When the W16 was tested again, this time with Bugatti Chiron, it was successful in reaching speeds of 417 km/h (259.1 mph) on a public road.

It took place on an unrestricted portion of the A2 highway, thus he did not breach any speeding regulations. After the driver posted a video of the trick on YouTube a few weeks ago, Germany's Transport Ministry was less than pleased.

According to The Associated Press, local officials published a statement this week criticizing the businessman, who has a net worth of over $300 million. Radim Passer is accused of endangering other drivers on the Autobahn. Even though the highest speed run took place at 4:50 a.m., the Autobahn was not fully empty that day. As a result, the Transport Ministry said it "rejects any behavior in road traffic that leads or can lead to endangering road users."

The Czech Republic's 33rd richest person is accused of breaking Germany's road traffic law's first stipulation: "Anyone participating in traffic must behave in such a way that no other person is harmed, endangered or obstructed or inconvenienced more than is unavoidable under the circumstances."
