Callaway is well-known for tweaking Corvettes, and their latest innovation will be shown at the “Corvettes at Carlisle” event in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The vehicle, dubbed the Launch Edition, is modeled on the C8 Stingray and has a modestly modified bodywork with a carbon fiber diffuser and a “Double-D” exhaust system.

Customers will also discover forged wheels, which will reportedly be offered in 5 finishes ranging from matte bronze to glossy black and would save over 26 lbs (12 kg) in weight. Those seeking a more sporty look might opt for an aerodynamic design kit.

Details are few, but two Aero Groups will be offered, with one featuring a front splitter, sharper side skirts, a vented back fascia, and a carbon-fiber wing. The inside has been well-thought-out, with an Alcantara horn cover, billet pedals, and Callaway-branded door sill plates. Embroidered floor mats and a build plaque will accompany them. The 6.2-liter V8 will be equipped with a redesigned manifold and a “Honker” intake air system to improve performance.

There is no indication on whether the modifications will improve performance, although the base model has 490-hp (365 kW / 497 PS) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm), while the Z51 Performance Package increases it to 495-hp (369 kW / 502 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm). These allows the Corvette to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0 to 96 km/h) in 2.9 secs and complete the quarter-mile in 11.2 secs at 121 mph (195 km/h).

While many uncertainties remain, the Callaway Corvette C8 Launch Edition will have a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty and purchasers will be able to choose between a secret handling kit and track or showroom delivery.
