An 800-HP Audi RS6 Avant With A Christmas Tree On Its Roof Demonstrates Its Top Speed

So, it's December 23rd, and if you don't already have a Christmas tree, you might be worried. In the meanwhile, Hennessey Performance is evaluating which car can get you home the quickest with a Christmas tree on top. Since 2019, when it sent a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk SRT with 1,000 hp (1,014 PS/756 kW) down a runway and achieved 181 mph (291 km/h), the high-performance tuner has been doing similar tests. 

This year, John Hennessey drove his 750 hp (760 PS/559 kW) modified Porsche 911 Turbo S down the runway, and they must have felt it would set a new record since the car was caught at 206 mph (332 km/h) without the tree. However, the automobile barely managed 175 mph with the Christmas tree on the roof, falling shy of the record. But certainly, something can beat the SUV, and Hennessey then shifted his attention to a German wagon.

The team was certain that Audi RS6 Avant, which had been tuned to produce 800 horsepower (811 PS/596 kW) and belongs to John's wife Hope, would break the record this time. The Audi, like the Porsche, was slower with the tree on the roof than without, but it did manage to attain a high speed of 183 mph (295 km/h) at the end of the track.
