Yamaha never ceases to impress with its new inventions brought to the car market. This time, the Japanese bike and engine manufacturer introduces its new 469bhp electric unit for US customers. Meet the new high-performance electric motor ready to boost 'hyper-EV' models.

The Japanese Motor Company is known mostly for its motorbikes recently became more popular for founding and creating the automotive powertrain division. This way, Yamaha managed to produce combustion engines, electric motors, ICE units, and parts for manufacturers such as Ford, Lotus, Toyota, and Volvo. 

The company's engine division also built Formula 1 engines from 1989 until 1997, which almost won the Hungarian Grand Prix powering Damon Hill’s Arrows in its final season.  If it suits your requirements, any manufacturer can already order the commissioned prototype developments of the unit, from car firms and other industries that have a need for a high-output EV motor.

Yamaha also confirmed that this electric motor offers an operating voltage of 800V, with a real chance at becoming the industry’s "highest class in output density". Offering a 469bhp output for a single electric motor is one of the highest available motors on the market right now. According to the company's statement, the output and density have been achieved thanks to the new compact design.

Integrating the gear and the inverter into a single unit already become an industry standard, but such an output delivered by one electric motor is a true accomplishment. Remember that the electric motors not intended to return for car production, it's only for sale to customers.
