Get ready for some camper magic, because the Volkswagen ID. Buzz is about to roll in and sprinkle a dose of adventure on American roads next year. Volkswagen recently showed off a European model at the Electrify Expo in New York, and boy, does it have some cool camper upgrades!

What really caught everyone's attention were the extra goodies from a German brand called Ququq. These add-ons showed us just how creative you can get with the long-wheelbase version of the ID. Buzz.

So, what's the buzz about this electric microbus? Well, it comes with something called the Ququq Bus Box 4—a 136-pound box that's 43.3 inches wide and 16.5 inches tall. Inside, you'll find a comfy foldable mattress, cozy bed covers, a gas stove with wind protection, two 10-liter water canisters with taps, and even two stainless steel bowls.

You can even choose to add a 15- or 20-liter fridge that plugs into the van's trunk to keep things cool. And don't worry about rain; the box is waterproof, thanks to its sturdy construction with glued plywood and phenolic resin-coated material, along with aluminum profiles, steel hinges, and sturdy handles.

Now, let's talk comfort. The foam mattress stretches from the front seats all the way to the edge of the trunk, offering a cozy spot for two adults to catch some shut-eye. It's 76.6 inches long and 49.2 inches wide. And if you opt for the longer LWB version, which adds about 9.8 inches in length, you might just have a bit more space to fit all your camping gear.

Setting up Bus Box 4 is a piece of cake, taking just a minute, as per Ququq. It's like a compact module; all you need to do is fold down the rear seats and unfold the mattress. The foam block of the mattress rests on the backrests of the folded seats.

The longer-wheelbase version will offer two battery options: 82 kWh and 91 kWh. It'll be powered by a rear motor with 282 horsepower and support 200 kW DC fast charging. More details are expected to come from Volkswagen closer to the launch.

So, if you're itching for some camping adventures, the ID. Buzz LWB is about to make them even more exciting with its spacious trunk of 87.2 cubic feet. And let's not forget the fun tablet behind the driver's seat for music and movies, a roof rack for extra gear, and the surfboards for a touch of beach vibes.

While the US version of the Ququq Box isn't here yet, Rough Road Equipment (RRE Global), the official dealer, is planning to stock a few units by early 2024. They're still gauging the demand for these cool accessories, but if you're looking to spice up your camping game, keep an eye out for the Ququq Bus Box 4!

One thing to note: while the Ququq Box 4 is currently available in Europe from €3190, there's no US version just yet. But hey, Volkswagen is considering more accessories and suppliers for the ID. Buzz LWB, so who knows what exciting add-ons might be in store? It's all about getting ready to hit the road in style and comfort with the ID. Buzz LWB, the ultimate companion for your next camping adventure!
