Tesla Drivers Say They've Been The Targets Of Road Rage

As the number of Teslas on the road grows, so does the number of reports from their owners of increased hostility from other drivers and from those working at charging stations. This hostility appears to be motivated by either a dislike of Tesla CEO Elon Musk or an overall aversion to electric vehicles.

Axios conducted an investigation into Tesla owners in Iowa and discovered that "Tesla drivers are often heckled, cut off in traffic, and blocked from charging stations." Several respondents said that they had experienced "ICEing," when people driving internal combustion engine vehicles would block the way to charging stations for electric vehicles.

Elon Musk's decision to unban Donald Trump from Twitter while embracing a conservative stance has opened the Tesla brand to fresh criticism from liberal EV devotees, according to Marc Geller, spokesman for the Electric Vehicle Association and a Tesla owner himself.

However, not everyone attributes the supposed backlash against Tesla solely to Musk. The Guardian spoke with numerous Tesla drivers, and they all agreed that they had been targeted because of their choice of the electric car. According to Tesla drivers and others cited, they are more likely to be flipped off, cut off, and given disdainful stares while they are driving a Tesla than when they are driving any other automobile.
