Tesla Is Selling a $225 Bike, and It's Not for Adults

Tesla's newest launch isn't built for commuters or road trips. It's for future drivers. The company has unveiled a $225 balance bike for children, expanding its growing lineup of lifestyle products with something aimed at its youngest fans. Sales begin on July 31, and Tesla's limited-edition merchandise has a habit of selling out quickly.

Designed for children between two and five years old, the balance bike uses a lightweight magnesium frame and an adjustable saddle with five height settings. The seat slides along the rear frame, making it easy to adapt as kids grow and gain confidence before moving on to a pedal bike.

Tesla says the bike is suitable for children with a minimum leg length of 13.7 inches (35 cm). The recommended rider weight is up to 66.1 pounds (30 kg), while the maximum limit is 77.1 pounds (35 kg). As with any balance bike, there are no pedals. Instead, children push themselves forward with their feet while learning balance and coordination. Assembly is required, but all the necessary tools are included.

The concept itself isn't anything new. Plenty of companies already sell balance bikes, often at lower prices, while some premium alternatives offer extra features. Tesla's version stands out with its clean, angular styling, subtle branding, and minimalist design that closely matches the rest of the company's products.

Orders are scheduled to start shipping in late August. If Tesla's previous lifestyle products are any indication, buyers may have to act fast once orders open.
