Take A Closer Look At The Futuristic  Cadillac Coupe Sketch Under The GM Designer Zhou Fang Pen

As Cadillac fans got used to it, the automaker has a way of giving false hopes of breathtaking concepts. And almost no one gets offended when they remain just that without ever leaving the production line. General Motors loves to show off the automakers' design sketches and the latest Cadillac coupe aimed to give a glimpse at what the brand’s electrified future might look like.

This sketch was done by GM designer Zhou Fang who wanted to point out a low-slung four-seater coupe with massive doors. The designer pushed the wheels to the corners to give a lower greenhouse. The exterior has a sharp body line that runs from bumper to bumper, shaping the Cadillac into a streamlined. The front features point house vents that allow air to pass through.

As mentioned above, this design helps to achieve its futuristic view with high-mounted side-view cameras instead of the traditional mirrors. Also, the bigger wheels at the corners are associated with big fenders that Zhou Fang insisted on with bold LED lighting elements that run along the outer edges. The designer perfectly envisioned the brand’s current trend of vertically styled lighting elements, posing small shark fin extendable off the roof, in-housing the high-mount taillight and Cadillac badging.

Keep in mind that this is another sketch left inside a drawer because Cadillac changed its focus from coupe models towards crossovers and SUV.  Still, Cadillac a flagship sedan called the Celestiq scheduled to debut later this year. Based on GM’s BEV3 modular architecture and the company’s Ultium battery platform. Maybe one day we will see again a futuristic coupe inspired by these sketches.
