Meet The Stellantis’ 2021 Drive For Design Contest Winners Of Futuristic Jeeps

The winners for the 9th Edition of the Drive for Design contest by Stellantis were announced. So, which high school student created the most intriguing electrified Jeep of the future?

Let’s start with the first place going to the 12th grader Vincent Piaskowski, for his futuristic Jeep Grand Teton design. His creation features a striking hood and a fully enclosed grille that is flanked by slender headlights. The back of the truck shows an angular bodywork and a distinctive greenhouse. Other remarkable elements are the flat roof, a hexagonal rear window, and a rear bumper that appears to incorporate steps.

Second place went to the young 10th grade Michigander Rocco Morales for his stunning Jeep Crazy Horse. His concept is a futuristic coupe featuring a minimalist body, lower glass, massive tires, an opening windscreen, and an adjustable wheelbase.

In the 12th grade, Alex Wang won third place for his Adversary concept -inspired by the Jeep Forward Control. Featuring a solar roof, bed with pull-out drawers, Wang’s futuristic Jeep has a retractable table and removable LED lighting units that have the sole role to double as flashlights or lanterns.

According to the Drive for Design contest launcher Mark Trostle, the competition itself became a place where previous contestants show notable improvements from the former years. That’s the story for this year’s winner - Piaskowski got second place in 2021 and the third one in 2020.

The prize for the winners includes a one-on-one portfolio review with Trostle and the Stellantis design team and a scholarship for a virtual summer program at the College for Creative Studies. Piaskowski will also receive a Wacom MobileStudio Pro 16 tablet, while the 2nd and 3rd winners, will get will have to settle for an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil.
