Mattel Brick Shop Reveals 1:16 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Set

When it comes to tiny building bricks, Mattel clearly doesn’t want to leave all the fun to Lego. Its Mattel Brick Shop lineup has been growing steadily, and the latest addition to the Hot Wheels range is a pretty cool one.

It’s a 1:16 scale Aston Martin Vantage GT3, and it’s designed for anyone who enjoys the simple satisfaction of clicking pieces together - whether you’re 12 or just pretending you’re buying it “for the kids.”

The set includes 793 pieces and does a solid job of capturing the shape of the real Vantage race car. It comes finished in classic green with lime-green accents around the grille and mirrors, just like you’d expect from a proper GT3 machine.

Inside the box, you’ll also find interchangeable wheel faces and extra aero parts for the front splitter, so you can tweak the look a bit. There’s even a small 1:64 die-cast Vantage included, which is a nice bonus — and handy for reference when you’re staring at a pile of bricks trying to figure out where that one piece goes. Decals and racing numbers are included too, so you can really lean into the motorsport vibe.

Brick-built cars don’t always nail the curves. Blocks are square; cars aren’t. But this one uses several curved elements, and the result actually looks surprisingly good. There’s detail in the engine bay, the doors open, and the steering even works.

Mattel’s Ted Wu summed it up by calling the Vantage GT3 “bucket list material” for racing fans, adding that the Brick Shop version gives enthusiasts a new way to bring the car home in a detailed, customizable form that’s meant to be built, displayed, and admired.

The Vantage GT3 kit will go on sale this summer at retailers like Amazon, Target, and Mattel Creations. Price? $53.99, which feels pretty reasonable for nearly 800 pieces of race car therapy.
