Tesla has recently unveiled official specifications for its highly anticipated Cybertruck, shedding light on its impressive capabilities. At the San Diego Tesla showroom, a sign confirmed the electric truck's robust hauling prowess, boasting a 2,500-pound payload capacity.

Additionally, the Cybertruck exhibits an impressive towing capacity, boasting an 11,000-pound limit. When compared to its electric rivals, the Cybertruck continues to maintain its dominance.

For instance, the F-150 Lightning can only manage 2,235 lbs with the Standard Range battery and 1,952 lbs with the Extended Range pack. Similarly, the Silverado EV lags with a meager 1,300-lb payload, while the Rivian R1T and GMC Hummer EV Pickup fall short at 1,760 lbs and 1,300 lbs, respectively.

Tesla Cybertruck stands tall among its competitors in the payload department. However, when it comes to towing capacities, the Cybertruck's 11,000-lb limit falls short compared to its gas-powered counterparts. The Ford F-150 leads with an impressive 13,500-lb towing capacity, followed closely by the Silverado 1500 at 13,300 lbs.

The Ram 1500, with 11,580 lbs, trails a bit behind its competitors but still surpasses the Tesla. While the Rivian R1T matches the Cybertruck's towing capacity, both the Silverado EV and F-150 Lightning lag behind by 1,000 lbs. The hefty and robust-looking Hummer EV falls last in the category with 8,500 lbs. However, it's worth noting that electric trucks, including the Cybertruck, experience significant range reduction while towing, affecting their practicality on long journeys compared to ICE-powered trucks.

Tesla is getting ready for the first deliveries on November 30, but the exact details of the Cybertruck's two configurations—dual-motor and tri-motor—are still not completely clear. The NHTSA papers show that the first one has a gross vehicle weight rate of between 8,001 and 9,000 pounds, while the second one has a GVWR of between 9,001 and 10,000 pounds.
