Hyundai's New Mobile Eccentric Droid May Go Into Movie Industry

A new "compact mobility platform" called the Mobile Eccentric Droid (MobED) was revealed by Hyundai yesterday. It's excellent for both indoor and outdoor use thanks to its adjustable wheelbase and cutting-edge technology. On four 12-inch-wide wheels, the MobED consists of a flat rectangular base on which various tools can be put.

With an independent suspension system, the platform can remain level on the uneven ground even with varying body positions. The Mobile Eccentric Droid might be handy for deliveries and guiding, according to Hyundai, and its gimble-like steadiness could be beneficial for film crews.

It's even powerful enough to assist folks who have trouble moving around. The MobED is large enough to house a 2 kWh battery and weighs 50 kg (110 lbs), measuring 67 cm (26.3 inches) long, 60 cm (23.6 inches) broad, and 33 cm (12.9 inches) high.  However, because of its capacity to adapt to the terrain, its chassis may grow from 45 cm (17.7 inches) to 65 cm (25.5-inches).

The robot can reach a top speed of 30 km/h (18.6 mph) when the wheels are completely extended. It's tiny and agile to handle complicated settings with its wheels completely retracted. Hyundai claims that a single charge would last for hours and that the pneumatic tires will let it absorb shocks better. The Mobile Eccentric Droid will be on display to the general public during CES 2022, which will take place in Las Vegas from January 5-8, 2022.
