Owners of 2015–2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and 2017–2019 Corvette Grand Sport models who had to cover the costs of repairing or replacing a damaged wheel may now be eligible for reimbursement.

Wheel failure is a common complaint among C7 Corvette Z06 and Corvette Grand Sport owners, who have been dealing with this issue for years.

The "Corvette Wheels Limited Special Reimbursement Program" is a new initiative by General Motors that aims to compensate certain owners and lessees. Making a claim and receiving reimbursement, nevertheless, may be difficult for individuals. Owners of eligible Corvette models must provide paperwork such as service records, receipts, or invoices via the program to verify the repair or replacement of a wheel.

Interestingly, for GM to provide compensation, the paperwork must explicitly state that road hazards or collisions did not cause the damage. According to GM's information, it does not cover "cracks, punctures, cuts, snags, and breaks resulting from a pothole impact, curb impact, or other objects, or words to the same effect." On the Corvette Forum, this comment raised some eyebrows among owners.

If owners want to prove that an effect isn't at fault, they may do so by filing a perjury-proof sworn declaration. The document's signatory must affirm, to the best of their knowledge and belief, that impact or road hazards did not cause the wheel repair or replacement due to a bent or cracked wheel.

If any documentation indicates that impact damage led to the repair or replacement of a wheel, GM will not provide compensation. The first 4-year/48,000-mile extended warranty term necessitates the servicing or replacement of a wheel. The deadline for requesting a refund is January 25, 2025.
