Electric Motorcycles Producer Savic Receives Approval

After securing a round of funding totaling AUD 1.14 million just recently, Savic, named after its creator Dennis Savic, is now ready to begin production. However, seeing Australians come up with two-wheeled inventions is unusual. 

Australian Federal Government's Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre is a tax-funded acceleration and investment tank for Australian-grown enterprises, and the Savic brand meets this condition. 

According to rumors, the Australian manufacturer Savic will release three variants of its C-Series motorcycles by late 2022, with the most entry-level model retailing for AUD 12,990.  The cheapest model in the speculated range will produce 25 kW (33.5 hp), putting it on a level with BMW G 310 R and other similar 300cc class motorcycles.

The C-Series Alpha models, on the other hand, will be the most potent of the pack, with a 60 kW (80 hp) motor and up to 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque, equivalent to a middleweight motorbike like the Yamaha MT-07. If that's a little too powerful for you, the 40 kW (53.6 hp) model is a good medium ground. The motorcycles are expected to cost AUD 23,990 and AUD 16,990.

A 16 kW hour lithium-ion battery will also be installed to power the engine. These cells are expected to give the Savic a range of roughly 250 km (155 miles). In addition, Savic and Bosch are working together to create an anti-lock braking system specifically for Savic vehicles. The business will launch in Australia initially, and if there is a positive response, it will expand to other countries.
