Cybertruck Bed Space Issue: Less Room Than You Think

Hold on a sec, Cybertruck fans! There's a bit of a hitch with that supposedly 6-foot bed. It turns out, that number isn't exactly the whole story when it comes to hauling stuff in your electric beast.

Here's the deal: the bed technically is 6'1" long, but that only applies to things that are practically paper-thin. If you're planning to carry anything with an actual height, well, things get a little tight.

A TikToker by the name of molesrcool (love the username!) exposed this whole situation. Basically, the way Tesla designed the back wall of the cabin cuts into the bed space the higher your cargo gets. Not exactly the most trucker-friendly move, Tesla.

@molesrcool it turns out the bed cover is the latest part of the #cybertruck to fail, and Tesla fans continue to do mental gymnastics for the love of their truck #Tesla #elonmusk #trucks #greenscreen ♬ Twin Peaks Theme (Instrumental) - Angelo Badalamenti

Think of it like this: imagine a perfect rectangle – that's what most truck beds are like. Plenty of space for all your gear. The Cybertruck bed, on the other hand, is more like a weird trapezoid. Not ideal for maximizing cargo capacity.

molesrcool even made a handy chart showing how much bed space you actually have depending on how tall your stuff is. Spoiler alert: it's not much for anything over 30 inches. Seriously, a Ford Maverick, the tiniest truck out there, has a bed that's almost as long even though it's way shorter overall.

And guess what? You can actually see this design flaw in the Cybertruck's own manual! There's a diagram that clearly shows the uneven bed space. It's almost like they tried to hide it, because in molesrcool's video, you can see dimensions listed next to the diagram that are mysteriously missing from the manual itself. Strange, right?

Look, I get it. Most Cybertruck owners probably aren't planning on hauling lumber or giant inflatable pool toys. But for those who are, this bed situation is a bit of a bummer. It's just another thing to add to the growing list of head-scratching design choices for Tesla's futuristic truck.
