Chevrolet Presents A New 1,004 HP ZZ632 Crate Engine

Chevrolet has introduced the ZZ632/1000 V8: its greatest, heaviest crate motor ever, after delighting us with its roaring sound. The engine will make its premiere in November at SEMA 2021, with the first deliveries planned in early 2022.

The ZZ632 is a huge block V8 engine based on the same block as the ZZ572 that debuted with the COPO Camaro. The displacement has expanded even further to a huge 632 cubic inches (10.35 liters) from the initial 572 cubic inches (9.4 liters), as the title suggests.

A forged steel crankshaft, forged steel connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, port fuel injection, aluminum heads, and a CNC-machined intake manifold are all used in conjunction with the cast-iron block. Despite being naturally aspirated, the ZZ632 generates 1,004 hp (749 kW / 1,018 PS) and 876 lb-ft (1,188 Nm) of torque while operating on 93-octane gas and revving to a 7,000 rpm redline, according to Chevrolet.

This puts it on par with the Dodge Hellephant crate motor, as well as the impending Ford Megazilla, which is still in the works. The flagship crate engine, which will be offered through Chevrolet Performance dealers beginning in early 2022, has yet to be priced.
