BMW's 'The Icon' Electric Boat Raises The Bar For Extravagance

At the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, BMW and boat-maker Tyde have joined forces to unveil their latest partnership, aptly named "The Icon." BMW Group subsidiary Designworks was in charge of creating the boat. It has a transparent structure that includes a spacious lounge entrance enclosed by glass. It boasts not one, not two, but six batteries from the esteemed BMW i division, providing a whopping 240 kWh of energy to propel it forward with the help of a pair of 100 kW electric motors.

According to BMW and Tyde, the Icon boasts a range exceeding 50 nautical miles (equivalent to 62 miles) and is capable of moving at a speed of 24 knots (equivalent to 28 miles per hour). Additionally, the boat's maximum speed is reported to be 30 knots (35 miles per hour).

The interior boasts luxurious deep-pile carpeting, comfortable rotating seats, and a yoke-style steering wheel. All essential functions and vital information can be easily accessed and monitored through the state-of-the-art 32-inch 6k touchscreen display. Additionally, the luxury boat is equipped with an onboard Dolby Atmos sound system for an immersive audio experience.
