Buick Beijing Concept Feels Like A Mobile Living Room
by AutoExpert | 27 April, 2026
Buick showed up in Beijing with something that barely feels like a car. It’s called the Electra Zenith Mobile Space, and honestly, it’s more like a rolling lounge than anything you’d expect to see on the road anytime soon.
The outside is wild in a kind of playful way. It’s this smooth, teardrop shape with a mostly transparent body and soft patterns running through it. The front lights up when you walk up to it, almost like it’s saying hi. It’s very show car, but you can tell they had fun with it.

Walk around the back and it keeps that same energy. Fancy lighting, unusual wheels, and a big U-shaped spoiler that looks cool, even if you’re not sure what it actually does. It feels more like design for the sake of it, and that’s fine here.
Inside is where it gets really interesting. The whole space is built around the idea of relaxing or just hanging out. There’s this fan-shaped table in the middle that folds and moves around, even turns into a divider if you want some space. Slightly funny, but also kind of clever.

The seats can spin so everyone faces each other, like you’re sitting in a small lounge. And yeah, the front seats lean so far back that rear passengers can rest their feet on them. Buick actually shows this, which is both amusing and a bit questionable.
Also, random detail, but there are shots of a whale in the promo. No clear reason, just part of the vibe they’re going for.

Behind all the flashy stuff, Buick says this hints at future tech. Things like advanced self-driving, solid-state batteries, steer-by-wire, and a four-motor setup.
It’s not meant to be taken too seriously. More like Buick showing ideas and seeing what people react to. Some bits feel a bit much, but you can’t say it’s boring.
