Nissan’s New Rogue Hybrid Takes Direct Aim at the Toyota RAV4

Nissan is bringing a new Rogue Hybrid to the US with standard all-wheel drive and a starting price of $35,490. The hybrid joins the regular combustion Rogue and plug-in hybrid, giving buyers three different powertrain options for the same compact SUV.

The Rogue Hybrid keeps the familiar size and overall shape, but Nissan gives the bodywork a complete redesign.

Up front, it gets a wide honeycomb grille with matching patterns in the daytime running lights, while sharper lines run across the fenders and doors. The rear features redesigned taillights, an optional LED light bar, and black bumper cladding. The C-pillars also get a distinctive shape inspired by Mount Fuji.

The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid measures 183.1 inches long and rides on a 106.5-inch wheelbase. Ground clearance ranges from 8.4 to 8.5 inches, depending on the trim. Inside, the five-seat cabin offers a 31.1-cubic-foot (881-liter) cargo area, along with a standard digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Higher trims replace those with two 14.3-inch displays and a 10-speaker Bose audio system. Nissan also says the Rogue provides more front headroom and legroom than the Toyota RAV4.

Nissan has not made the hybrid just another mild update to the existing Rogue. It uses a dual-electric-motor setup and comes with AWD as standard, while the exterior and cabin give it a distinct identity within the Rogue lineup. Pricing starts at $35,490, putting the new hybrid directly into the crowded compact SUV market where the Toyota RAV4 remains one of its key rivals.
