Peugeot RCZ Vision: The Electric Sports Coupe That Could Rival The Audi TT
by AutoExpert | 12 October, 2026
Peugeot seems to be having another go at the sports coupe, and its new RCZ Vision concept makes a pretty convincing case for it. Revealed at this year’s Paris Motor Show, the electric coupe brings back a name last seen on Peugeot’s RCZ, which was sold between 2009 and 2015 as an alternative to the Audi TT.
The new version looks lower, wider, and more muscular, with a distinctive glass roof and sculpted bodywork. Peugeot hasn’t confirmed a production version, but the concept gives us a good idea of where the brand’s design is heading.

The styling is part of Peugeot’s new design direction, called “Feline Future.” The name comes with five principles - freedom, courage, elegance, inner force, and instinct - but the result is easier to appreciate than the explanation. The RCZ Vision has a strong stance without looking overly complicated, and its familiar three-claw lights now feature a horizontal layout at the front and rear.

Inside, Peugeot is also rethinking how much technology drivers really need in front of them. The updated i-Cockpit uses small micro-LED displays for essential information, and the central screen can be turned off altogether. The cabin also gets the Hypersquare steering wheel, which works with steer-by-wire technology to make parking and low-speed maneuvers easier. Peugeot plans to introduce the system in the next E-208, expected in 2027.

The performance figures are where things get really interesting. Peugeot quotes 493 hp, a range of 373 miles, and an energy consumption of 11.5 kWh per 100 km. Even more ambitious is the proposed battery setup: a 1,000-volt electrical system and solid-state battery that could charge from 10% to 80% in just 10 minutes.
Based on the claimed range and consumption, the battery would need roughly 69 kWh of usable capacity. Peugeot hasn’t confirmed that figure, though, and the charging time is still a concept-stage claim rather than a promise for a production car.

The Peugeot RCZ Vision rides on Stellantis’ STLA One platform, which is designed to support both hybrid and electric vehicles. The architecture is expected to make its production debut in the next Peugeot E-208 in 2027, while technologies showcased here could eventually appear in other models across the group.
That matters because Peugeot is one of just four Stellantis brands - alongside Jeep, Ram, and Fiat - set to receive 70% of the group’s planned investment across its 14 marques. The RCZ Vision may look like a niche sports car, but the technology behind it could have a much wider role.

So, will Peugeot actually build it? For now, the company is keeping that question open. Sports coupes remain a relatively small market, making a new model a tough business case, even if the design has plenty going for it. Audi is also preparing an electric return for the TT, which could give Peugeot a reason to reconsider the segment.
Either way, the RCZ Vision is worth watching. Even if the coupe never reaches showrooms, its styling, digital controls, and electric technology offer a clear hint of what future Peugeots could look and feel like.
