This Modern BMW 6-Series Comeback Render Actually Makes a Lot of Sense

The BMW 6-Series Coupe might be gone, but people haven’t really let it go. There’s still a lot of interest in seeing it come back, and Sugar Design decided to take a shot at what that could look like today.
This version imagines the 6-Series as a clean, modern two-door for the Neue Klasse era. Not a retro throwback, more like a fresh take with a few familiar cues.

The front end pulls a bit from the BMW i3, mainly the slim headlights and that illuminated grille. But the overall stance is very different. It sits lower, wider, and looks more serious. The sharper intakes and subtle shark nose give it that classic BMW feel.
From the side, it’s pretty minimal. Smooth surfaces, no extra lines, clearly inspired by the Vision Neue Klasse concept. It just looks tidy.

Around the back, you can see hints of the Skytop. Wide rear, very thin taillights, and a clean finish. It has that quiet, expensive look without trying too hard to show off.
There’s no info on what powers it, but it’s almost certainly electric. The proportions suggest Neue Klasse hardware underneath, probably shared with future models like the i3 and iX3.

There’s also a bit of history behind the idea. It lines up with 50 years since the original E24 6-Series, which a lot of people still see as the best-looking one. Since then, the 6 has changed a lot and even turned into that odd 6-Series GT for a while.
What’s interesting here is the role it could play. Instead of having both the 4-Series and 8-Series coupes, BMW could roll them into one model.

Fewer models, less overlap, and a cleaner lineup. And if it ends up looking anything like this, it wouldn’t be a hard sell.
