Alpine A310 Vision Looks Ready To Give The Porsche 911 A Run For Its Money
by AutoExpert | 12 October, 2026
Alpine knows how to make a good-looking sports car, and its new A310 Vision concept is another reminder of that. Unveiled as a tribute to the original A310, which competed with the Porsche 911 between 1971 and 1984, the concept mixes classic proportions with sharp modern details.
Alpine says it’s a creative design exercise, rather than a preview of a production model. Still, with a new A310 already in the works, it’s hard not to see a connection.

The design is what grabs you first. The A310 Vision sits low to the ground, with slim LED headlights, a deep front splitter, and muscular wheel arches. Its bulky rear gives it the same distinctive shape as the original, while angular side windows and bold silver-and-black wheels bring it firmly into the present. There are some unusual touches, too, including digital side mirrors and transparent sections in the doors. Around the back, a large aluminum clamshell replaces the original A310’s expansive rear window. A prominent lip spoiler and slim LED taillights finish off the look.

There’s substance behind the styling as well. The concept uses Alpine’s new Performance Platform (APP), the same architecture planned for the next all-electric A110. That doesn’t mean the A310 Vision is heading straight for production, but it does give us a glimpse of the technology Alpine is developing for its future sports cars. The company first announced plans for a new four-seat A310 in 2023, promising a model that would share its platform with the A110. Test cars spotted in 2025 offered the first hints of what Alpine was working on.

The production A310 is expected to take the form of a fastback grand tourer with a 2+2 layout, giving it two rear seats alongside the front pair. A convertible version is also reportedly planned. That would make it a more practical alternative to the smaller A110, while keeping the sporty character Alpine is known for. Exactly how the finished car will look remains a mystery, and Alpine hasn’t confirmed whether any of the Vision concept’s design details will make it into production.

The A310 Vision has the kind of design that makes you want Alpine to build it tomorrow. It brings back the spirit of the original without looking stuck in the past. Production plans remain unclear, but if the real A310 comes this close, Porsche might have a new headache.
